On behalf of Kurt Lewin Center for Psychological Research and the Institute of Psychology of Kazimierz Wielki University we are most privileged to invite you on the Lewinian Summer School 2008 entitled: Kurt Lewin's inspirations in scial sciences.
Lewinian Summer School 2008 will take place on 8-11 May 2008 in Mogilno (Poland), the city where Kurt Lewin was born in 1890.
This proposal is mainly addressed to young researchers, social sciences students, members of psychological, sociological and pedagogical scientific associations and other social scientific clubs. Summer School is a unique opportunity to come to know the value of Kurt Lewin theory in social sciences.
The scientific program of Lewinian Summer School 2008 consisting of:
- oral sessions
- poster sessions
- plenary sessions
- practical workshops.

- On behalf of members of Kurt Lewin Center for Psychological Research and
the authorities of Kazimierz Wielki University in Bydgoszcz, we would like
to express best wishes on occasion of celebrating Professor’s B. Raven
jubilee 80th birthday and jubilee of 50th years of his academic work in
UCLA.
It is a great honour for us that such a great person and scientist is one
of the initiators and contributors of the Kurt Lewin Center for
Psychological Research at Kazimierz Wielki University in Bydgoszcz. Taking
this opportunity we also would like to thank you for your help and support
for Kurt Lewin Center for Psychological Research.
- Kurt Lewin Center for Psychological Research and Institute of Psychology at Kazimierz Wielki University in Bydgoszcz have initated preliminary arrangments to organising the second edition of International Conference "Lewinianum" which will be held in Bydgoszcz and Mogilno in 2007. The Committee of Kurt Lewin Center invites researches and practictioners, academics and profesionals, scientists interested in Kurt Lewin theory to attending in the conference. Oral and poster sesions during Lewinianum create a great opportunity to discuss Kurt Lewin and his students contribution to methodology, theory and practice in different areas of psychology and provide a forum to discuss ways of application Lewin’s theory to solving many contemporary social problems.
- On September 2006 we will disseminate the detailed information about program of the conference, the main themes of the "Lewinianum 2007" and other usefull information. We would like to mention that the KLC website will be providing further details about registration, accomodation, submitting abstracts etc.
- On behalf of the organizing committee of the second edition of International Conference "Lewinianum", we’re looking forward to welcoming you to Bydgoszcz and Mogilno.
- We would like to inform that Thomas Lewin – thanks to kindness of Miriam Lewin – has delivered two copies of the Kurt Lewin’s Doctoral Diploma awarded by the Univeristy in Berlin. One of the copy has been transmitted to Regional Museum in Mogilno and the second has been deliverd in the Hall of Institute’s Board.
- In Kurt Lewin’s birthday, September 9, Prof. Janusz Trempała, Prof. Roman Ossowski (the director of the Institute of Psychology at Kazimierz Wielki University) accompanied by Jacek Krasny (the Mayor of Mogilno) and two other persons who represented a local authorities of Mogilno City hung a wreath on the wall of Lewin’s home in Mogilno, near the commemorative plaque (photo 1). In the same time, as a participants of an anniversary city ceremony, Prof. J. Trempała and Prof. R. Ossowski laid a wreath at the town’s memorial dedicated to the citizens of Mogilno, who died for freedom and who were murdered during the World War II (photo 2). à do tego załczyć te dwie fotografie
- Since February 1,2005 till June 30, 2005 in the Main Hall of the Institute of Psychology at Kazimierz Wielki University was organised an Exhibition of documents, books and other things related to Kurt Lewin’s life and his scientific output. Besides, during the exhibition were presented selected posters of participants of the International Conference: "Kurt Lewin Contribution to Contemporary Psychology". Thanks that, students and all guests of Institute of Psychology had an unusual opportunity to get to know many important issues related to Lewin’s life and theory.
- Many students from our University have engaged in Lewin’s theory in their Master thesis. So, we would like to inform, that we initated translating articles and choosen Kurt Lewin’s works into Polish.
- The reports on International Conference "Kurt Lewin: Contribution to Contemporary Psychology", which took place in September 2004 in Bydgoszcz, have been published in "Forward", a newsletter of the Society for the Psychological Study of Social Issues (K.Deaux) as well as "The Polish Psychological Bulletin", the journal of the Polish Psychological Association (Grabowska & Dacka). I would like to express our special thanks to the authors of those reports.
- We would like to mention that – thanks to efforts of Prof. Bertram Raven – The Kurt Lewin Center for Psychological Research has received many valuable scientific books and journals. We would like to express thanks to Prof. Raven and Authorities of Department of Psychology at California University for kindness and efforts in contributing the KLC.
- With a great pleasure we would like to inform that the post-conference
book entitled "Lewinian Psychology" Albert Pepitone, Bertram H. Raven,
Janusz Trempała (Proceedings of the international conference Kurt Lewin:
Contribution to Contemporary Psychology) has been published.
- The authors of the works contained in this book present their thoughts on
the life of Kurt Lewin and his contributions to contemporary psychology.
The research examined and the reflections on the subject matter have many
important implications concerning the history of the social sciences and
the present state of psychology. The work has notable practical
consequences for social policy within the fields of education and health,
as well as for the resolution of intergroup problems. Remarkably enough,
The Field Theory of Kurt Lewin and its concepts, approaches and research
methods have found, or may still find a wide and interesting application
in current psychological research and social practise.
