General information
On 10th May the Center submitted an application to the European Commission for subsidizing the project of summer training courses ( in the years 2006-2009) aimed at young researchers from the European Research Area on the subject of Action Research in Resolving Social Problems.
Projected training courses in action research will enable students to learn a comprehensive evaluation and understanding of social relations and change. Action research extends social studies, linking theory and professional reflections with diagnosis and learning experiences in social action. In addition, action research requires a different type of mere diagnosis (surveys, interviews) which has to be complemented by experimental comparative studies of the effectiveness of various techniques of social change.
The project of training courses in action research will enable junior researchers to benefit from the experience of leading scientists from the USA and Europe, who are experts in the field of social studies
We are still waiting for official and final decision on our proposal of Summer Training Courses.

Course: Discrimination in the Family
3-10 September, 2007, Bydgoszcz-Mogilno, Poland
Welcome to the summer school for young researchers entitled “Action

of events which together make a coherent program of a training and
professional advancement for young researchers.
The program of events includes one series of four summer training courses

requires diagnosis and resolution in action, i.e.: (1) discrimination in
family, (2) prejudice and stereotyping, (3) ageism, (4) political and
social leadership. The proposed training courses will be organized in
Bydgoszcz, Poland (September, 8-15, probably yearly) and will last 8 days,
the participants will work in small groups, and will consist of the
following three elements: (a) theoretical session; (b) practical
workshops; (c) publication of proceedings.
The first course in the cycle, in 2007, will be focused on the problem of
discrimination in family. The keynote speakers are members of the Kurt Lewin Center for
